We had a great day today. It really was what can only be described as a quintessential beach holiday day. In brief, blue sky, sea, sand, sun and naked geriatrics. Yes dear reader, it turns out that German and Spanish geriatrics swim in the buff. Poor Char didn’t know where to look when two “hot dogs” strolled past us to the water’s edge for a swim. And guys, let’s just say saggy scroats aren’t a major turn-on. There are some things you can’t unsee and end up burnt into your memory.
Today’s been glorious. 25c a little wind , but blue sky and as the breeze subsided fabulously warm.

As there were no scooters for hire at the start of our walk this morning, we flipped our plan and walked into town and scootered back. On the way in I bought a pair of sunglasses which we were quoted €15 for the other day, but today the lady said €12. A good result, although she could add a storage pouch or case but for that price you can’t expect the moon on a stick.
The beach was really busy, which was understandable given how fabulous the weather was. Once we’d paddled, walked along the beach and sat for a while soaking up some rays we strolled back towards the scooter bay. Before we left the beach, we paused for a cold drink. Three x Coke Zero was €13, which is why we’re staying here all inclusive! Once back at the hotel, we recovered from our track back up the hill with pre-lunch drinks. After lunch, I needed to do a little job on my tablet. Leaving the ladies at the pool bar while I popped the tablet back to the room, I was confused when I returned because I couldn’t locate them. I checked inside, not there. I scanned outside, not there. Finally, I texted “where are you?”. The reply was “at the snack bar”. They gave me some tale about needing a coffee but the queue was too long at the pool bar, then they said oh and we got you some watermelon pointing to two slices on a plate. You’d have been forgiven for assuming the two plates of chips and ketchup on the table were left by a previous guest, if it wasn’t for the traces of ketchup around Liz’s mouth!! #busted.
Wanting to make the most of our last day and the lovely weather we walked back along the seafront, soaking in the sun and the view. Now we’re sat engaged in some deeply meaningful, scintillating conversation. Scrub that, I’m typing the blog and they’re scrolling their phones.

Our dash to find some winter sun is nearly at an end, sob sob. The airport bus arrives to pick us up at 8am tomorrow. But before then we’ve got my bottle of complimentary birthday cava (champagne) to drink so it won’t be a dull evening. See you when we get back.
