Day 1 – Torremolinos

This is going to be a very brief account.
The flight began with a lady across the aisle needing the maintenance crew to dismantle her seat and replace her defective seatbelt. This took about 15 minutes and made the lead stewardess very nervous, I suspect she worried the smooth onboarding process was going to be upset by a late departure. She didn’t need to worry. Aside from a period of turbulence (seatbelts on), the flight was uneventful and we arrived 5 minutes early. I guess we had a prevailing tailwind.

Coach to the hotel was “proper long” and considering it was only a 10-minute taxi ride, we regretted opting for the bundled bus option on the loveholidays website. Next time we’ll avoid it!
The hotel is ok. Not stellar on any level, but will definitely do what we need, all be it at a lower standard than some places we’ve been. We suspect it’s a magnet for German and French visitors as there are stacks of them. And the menu seems to back that up. Even I struggled to find food on our first lunch…

After lunch, we went walkabout down to the seafront and along the promenade which was very pleasant and really lifted my spirits. I’m defo verging on borderline SAD and by mid-March loathe our English wet/grey/cold weather. Switching it to sun and 22C was AMAZING!

After our evening meal (which was a rehash of the lunch menu), we set out to discover the local station, as we intend to head for Malaga tomorrow.

Good night campers.
