Day 13 – last day

I can’t believe today is our last full day in Orlando, strictly speaking, we’ve been staying in Kissimmee. Having missed the Orca Experience Show at SeaWorld last Tuesday due to the rain causing play to be abandoned, we returned today to claim our places in the arena in time for the show. It was clear the park management suspected the show was likely to have been cancelled as we saw lots more park staff in the arena today. The show was amazing and I’m pleased to report Daniel and Sophie enjoyed it tremendously.

Afterwards, we visited Florida Mall so “The Browns” could experience a large American shopping mall. They found the size of it a little eye-opening, which was our reaction when we (Liz and I) first visited it back in 2015. But they had a good time walking around on our whirlwind tour of the mall. And in Dicks Sporting Goods Dan bought a groovy purple and gold Orlando soccer shirt.

On our way back we popped into a Disney park store to buy a couple of items which are exclusive to the parks (as they deliberately divide their range of merch into items available online or internationally and those reserved for sale only from stores inside a park). Having completed our shopping, we headed out for our last evening meal at an American chain called BJs. Overall it was a great experience and everyone loved it.  During our holiday we’ve dined at Dennys a couple of times and although we’ve eaten at burger restaurants a few times we’ve visited a different outlet each time. And in case you’re wondering, dear reader, the portions here can be huge and have defeated us on more than one occasion. And we weren’t the only ones, it’s quite common to see somebody paying their bill with a baggy-dog or food box on their table. In some places, we’ve also been offered a takeaway cup to tip our bottomless drinks into. And in a few places, they’ve offered us another cup of our chosen tipple in a takeaway cup “for the road”.
